Taco bell’s cantina tacos are closer to real mexican food then tbell has ever gotten. I had the steak, which were tasty and enjoyable, and the carnitas which was tasty but skippy on the meat. Of course I threw in a meximelt for the true sudo-mexican taste.

Best shrimp tacos so far.

The Fishery in Pacific Beach, San Diego has the best shrimp tacos I have ever had up to this point. The buttery perfectly cooked shrimp mated with all spot on fresh ingrediants leaves you thinking about these things regulary even weeks after you have them. The ceviche there is fantastic also.

Nasty malware

Man was my system infected, got the nastiest peice of code yesturday. I had been looking for a canvas texture to use in a project, but unfortunatly I found it on what turned out to be a very bad site. Of course Symantec Endpoint Protection provided little actual protection and only informed me of the very bad things this code started doing. It recognized infection and maybe stopped a couple of the codes bad intentions, but the code eventually disabled Symantec (later learned it actually infected some of Symantec’s files). This thing brought in all its viral friends too. What truely sucked is that it infected a thumbdrive I had in, which caused me to accidently spread it two other people when I used the usb drive and their computers to download tools to fix the problem. It also rebuild itself as I battled it, bringing in new nastes from time to time. This thing did it all, rootkit, spam server, fake virus repair tool ads, and prevented using all sorts of resources and tools to stop it. I think I finally beat this thing with a combo of hijackthis, Mcaffe Stinger, TDSSKiller, Spybot and some Explorer elbo grease. To the A-hole who created this monster I hope you pay for time and agony you inflict on people, and it should come around to you two fold.

Habanero’s Mexican grill

I had a great Carnegie asada burrito at habanero’s last week. Steak was so tender and the burrito was authentic with no tricks like rice stuffing to make it bigger. The habanero hot sauce was a treat too. Nice and scorching but not devoid of taste. Sat with regulars bellied up to the grill and saw that everything on the menu was cooked with same care. Honestly best burrito I’ve had in some time. Location is bit hidden but great food draws a crowd. Overheard the will be serving margaritas soon too.

Droid update failure

Still no 2.1 update for the Droid. I could go on a rant about this, but I won’t. I stopped using the default mail app (which is one of the things fixed supposedly) so I can wait for the rest I think. Multitouch and a upgraded album are not deal breakers for sure. I think verizon should come clean about the problem with upgrade though.

Google is eliminating support for Internet Explorer 6 in all their apps. I say bravo. No more work arounds for that piece-o- @#%=&.

I’m oddly caught up in Apple event fever right now, but I think it is like going to a car race to see crashes. I really suspect a big dissapointment for Apple fanboys and geeks elite, and really want to catch the wave of dissapointment in realtime. Let’s just hope Twitter doesn’t go down, so we can see the carnage.

Not so techno savy

Had some friends introduce me to Google iphone app like it was some sort of techno breakthrough. “You say something and it looks it up!” they said. Yah no shit, my whole phone does that for everything on Android. I ran Google Goggles on my phone for them, to let them know they were actually very far from latest tech.

Droid email accounts disappear. Verizon & Moto play blame game.

I had a droid user at work come to me two times with the droid asking her to set up email accounts again. It seems to only effect the POP, IMAP, and Exchange accounts. I did some research and it appears this is being reported by many Droid users. Though when anyone calls Moto or Verizon support, one just blames the other. I hope larger voices then I pick up on this story and get one of these babies to actually fix this serious bug. Leo laporte, perhaps a iphone fanboy like Kevin Rose, or maybe even Droid lovers like Techcrunch I’m sure would love to pick up on this story. Or maybe AT&T “Droid does, delete your email.”
